1619 Project on Hulu

The 1619 project illuminated the legacy of slavery in the contemporary United States and was launched in 2019 with a New York Times special edition. The special edition highlighted the 400th anniversary of the beginning of slavery. Nikole Hannah-Jones created the landmark project as a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist covering racial injustice. Her work has sparked podcasts, children's books, training programs, education curriculum, and now a docuseries on Hulu. The way NHJ presents this information is masterful. She gives the dates and details while still telling a story that feels intimate and personal. I doubt you will be able to watch this docuseries without feeling something.
